Platelet Fc?RIIA in immunity and thrombosis: Adaptive immunothrombosis

چکیده
Abstract Sepsis and autoimmune diseases remain major causes of morbidity mortality. The last decade has seen a new appreciation platelets in host defense, both immunity thrombosis. Platelets are first responders the blood to microbes or non?microbial antigens. role physiologic is counterbalanced by their pathology, for example, microvascular encounter antigens via innate adaptive immune processes; also help shape subsequent response. Fc?RIIA receptor complexes opsonized IgG pentraxins, expressed humans platelets, granulocytes, monocytes macrophages. With consideration roles Fc receptors, response autoantigens can be called immunothrombosis. Here we review newer developments involving platelet humanized mice thrombosis, with special attention heparin?induced thrombocytopenia, systemic lupus erythematosus, bacterial sepsis. Human genetic diversity receptors utility mouse models highlighted.

The Emerging Role of NETs in Venous Thrombosis and Immunothrombosis
Venous thrombosis (VT), a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, has recently been linked to neutrophil activation and release of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) via a process called NETosis. The use of various in vivo thrombosis models and genetically modified mice has more precisely defined the exact role of NETosis in the pathogenesis of VT. Translational large animal VT m...

This study examined the relation among platelet survival, thrombosis, and repeated vessel injury. With the use of 51Cr-labeled platelets, indwelling aortic catheters were shown to reduce platelet survival in rabbits and rats. In rabbits, thrombi were observed mainly at the aortic bifurcation and at the tip of the catheter. The amount of thrombus that formed in rabbits with short and long cathet...

متن کاملPlatelet-mediated modulation of adaptive immunity: unique delivery of CD154 signal by platelet-derived membrane vesicles.
Although mounting evidence indicates that platelets participate in the modulation of both innate and adaptive immunity, the mechanisms by which platelets exert these effects have not been clearly defined. The study reported herein uses a previously documented adoptive transfer model to investigate the ability of platelet-derived membrane vesicles to communicate activation signals to the B-cell ...

Overwhelming evidence exists that platelet-rich thrombus generation at the sites of plaque rupture and vessel wall erosion is a primary process causing ischemic events in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Plugging of the microvasculature with platelet aggregates was demonstrated in landmark studies of patients succumbing to acute myocardial infarction (MI). Atherectomy specimens of c...
